Knights of Columbus John Paul II Council Shines in Milford’s 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
On Sunday, March 16th, the John Paul II Council 13935 of the Knights of Columbus made a powerful and prayerful presence at Milford’s 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. With over 30 brother Knights in attendance, the council turned out in full force to honor the patron saint of their parish and community.
At the heart of the council’s procession was the debut of a beautifully crafted litter carrying a newly acquired statue of St. Patrick. Built with care by the hands of dedicated Knights, the litter was designed to evoke a sense of reverence and tradition. As the statue was solemnly carried through the streets of Milford, onlookers paused in admiration and awe. The crowd responded warmly, many with hands over hearts or phones raised to capture the moment of living faith on display.
“This was more than just a float in a parade,” said Grand Knight Joe Saski. “This was a witness to our faith, our heritage, and our unity as Catholic men.”
The event marked an important milestone for the John Paul II Council as it continues to grow in both size and spirit. Their participation in the parade not only celebrated Irish culture and Catholic identity, but also served as an invitation to others in the community to join in their mission of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
The Knights’ involvement in the parade drew praise from community members and fellow parishioners alike, many of whom commented on the reverence and dignity the council brought to the festivities. The debut of the St. Patrick statue and litter is expected to become an annual tradition and a centerpiece of the council’s public witness.
The parade was a joyful occasion for Milford and a proud moment for the John Paul II Council, whose members continue to put faith in action throughout Pike County and beyond.
