Brother Knights Feeding the Community – August 2024
Food for Families – August 2024
On August 25th 2024 we held our monthly Food for Families Dinner at St. Patrick’s Church. We served Ham, Macaroni and Cheese, String Beans, Salad, Soup and more. Our guest speaker was George Stalter. George spoke on his experience as an Olympic champion gymnast. Brother Knights and guests were especially thankful for George’s whit and humor during his talk.
The Knights of Columbus Food for Families program is a vital initiative dedicated to combating hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need. Beyond addressing physical hunger, the program recognizes the importance of feeding people’s social needs as well. By fostering a sense of community and belonging, it offers more than just food—it provides a connection to others, a reminder that no one is alone. The program creates opportunities for fellowship, support, and human dignity, ensuring that individuals and families not only receive nourishment for their bodies but also for their hearts and spirits.
During our Food for Families program we sell raffle tickets and put a donation bucket at the front of the room. Any donations that surpass the cost of the event go to other Knights programs like the Pennsylvania March for Life and giving to charities like the Ecumenical Food Pantry.
